From his first gig on vocals at age 3, classical piano lessons at 8, starting percussion at 11, and guitar at 13 years old, Kristo Zondagh has had music pulsing through his veins his entire life.
He has been playing in musicals, rock and jazz bands, and school orchestras since primary school. Being a multi-talented entertainer, he even landed the lead acting role in his high school’s production of “Grease.” While still in school, he started playing percussion for the East Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, obtained a distinction for his grade 8 Trinity drumkit exam, and started teaching drums.
After school, alongside obtaining a degree in architecture, Zondagh performed in countless theatre, and original and cover projects. One of these bands, VuDu, recently won the espAfrika Young Legends 2017 competition landing them a
slot at the prestigious Cape Town International Jazz Festival. He is also known for his involvement with the radio chart topping Stuart Reece, with whom he has been touring South Africa for the last several years.
To this day, Zondagh continues his live and studio sessions with a multitude of artists covering a wide spectrum of genres, including classical, world music, jazz, neo soul and RnB, blues, folk, rock, metal and pop.
